Mr. Coe guides the oversight and direction of VF Hotels. He is responsible for all aspects of hotel property and project development and acquisition— including site selection, feasibility studies, development incentives, municipal approvals, branding, equity placement and debt financing. Prior to joining Valley Forge Investment Corporation in 1999, Mr. Coe was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Omni Hotels. Prior to that position, Mr. Coe served as the General Counsel for Red Lion Hotels and Inns.
In addition to his legal and developmental experience, Mr. Coe has an extensive background in hotel operational divisions, including risk management, human resources and asset management. Mr. Coe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah and a law degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College.
Ms Friel is responsible for all financial and accounting matters at VFIC. She joined VFIC in 1986 and during her tenure with the company she has also been the Assistant General Manager at the Holiday Inn King of Prussia and VFIC’s Controller. Ms. Friel is credited with creating VFIC’s centralized accounting division. Prior to joining VFIC, Ms. Friel held various hotel management positions. Ms. Friel is a CPA and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Neumann College and her Masters degree in Taxation from Villanova University.
Mr. Odorisio is a 29-year veteran of the hospitality industry and is responsible for hotel operations at VF Hotels. During his career, he has been affiliated with a variety of hotels ranging from a 1,600 room convention center to smaller commercial properties. His experience includes six years with the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he was responsible for marketing and selling the City of Philadelphia as a convention and visitor destination. Prior to joining Valley Forge Investment Corporation, Mr. Odorisio was Vice President for the northeast region for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. He serves as treasurer for Historic Philadelphia, Inc., Chairman of the Board of Directors, Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau, member Board of Directors, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau and member Board of Directors, Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association and is active in other civic organizations.
As Corporate Controller, Mr. Simkins is responsible for centralized hotel accounting. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Simkins was the Complex Controller for Starwood Hotels and Resorts for the Sheraton Suites and Four Points Hotel Philadelphia Airport. With 19 years experience in hotel accounting, Mr. Simkins has served as Controller or Assistant Controller at the following hotels: Renaissance Hotel Springfield, Ramada Hotel O’Hare, Stouffer Oakbrook, Stanford Court Hotel San Francisco, Stouffer Denver Concourse Hotel, Stouffer Westchester Hotel, and Stouffer Valley Forge Hotel. Mr. Simkins is a graduate of Bloomsburg State College with a BS in Business Administration.
Ms. Sneddon built her career in the hospitality industry at VF Hotels, beginning in the sales department at the Holiday Inn in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. She moved up quickly, holding such positions at the Holiday Inn as sales coordinator, restaurant supervisor and assistant to the hotel executive before becoming director of human resources. Ms. Sneddon moved into the VF Hotels’ corporate offices in 1999. As corporate director of human resources, Ms. Sneddon provides oversight for hiring, employee practices and training. She administers corporate benefits, reviews the biannual associates’ survey and performs compensation analysis, assuring the uniform standards and level of performance for which VF Hotels is known. Ms. Sneddon coordinates VF Hotels safety and security training and supervises our team of on-site human resources directors.
Mr. Farnell is a 22 year veteran of the hospitality industry with experience as General Manager, rooms division management, human resources, sales and marketing. Before becoming the General Manager of the Embassy Suites Philadelphia – Valley Forge, Mr. Farnell had GM assignments at the Omni Hotel – Philadelphia, Latham Hotel-Philadelphia, Summerfield Suites Plymouth Meeting, Malvern and Princeton, NJ. Mr. Farnell has extensive hotel opening and conversion experience with Embassy Suites Philadelphia -Valley Forge, Summerfield Suites Plymouth Meeting and Embassy Suites Philadelphia – Center City. Mr. Farnell graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a dual degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Communications.
Mr. McGowan has 24 years experience in the hospitality industry in both sales and marketing and most recently as general manager. Over the course of his career he has worked at Hilton, Doubletree, Marriott and Intercontinental hotels. From 1982 to 1999, Mr. McGowan was a sales executive for Hilton Hotels. For two years (2000 to 2002) Mr. McGowan was an Area Director of Sales for Interstate Hotels representing the Somerset Marriott, Westin Morristown, Holiday Inn Tinton Falls and Sheraton Mahwah. In 2002, Mr. McGowan was appointed general manager of the Holiday Inn Select Bucks County. In 2005 Mr. McGowan joined the company as GM of the Crowne Plaza King of Prussia. Mr. McGowan graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration.
Mr. McElwee has been responsible for commercial real estate business at Valley Forge Investment Corporation, the management predecessor to Valley Forge Hotel Management, for almost 30 years. He joined Valley Forge Investment Corporation in 1972 and is now the company president. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from Drexel University. In addition, Mr. McElwee is active in various civic and charitable organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of both the King of Prussia Chamber of Commerce and Immaculata University.
